These ingredients sit on an ultra-thin, flexible patch which has special sweat channels built into it. These allow moisture from sweat to accumulate in those channels, meaning the patch stays put when you start to sweat.

Let's face it, hot water bottles and heat patches suck. Yes, they give that 'ahhh' feeling but they're huge monstrosities that you can NEVER get comfortable with! The BeYou Patch is 0.3mm thick. Yes, that's about the same thickness as a birthday card (a good quality one... like our patches!). Nobody will know you have one on, even in tight clothing! Particularly great if you love a tight t-shirt!

We're meticulous about the ingredients that go into each product. These have the same ingredients as our flagship Monthly Patches! While we are not allowed to make any claims around menthol and eucalyptus providing pain relief or acting as anti-inflammatories; we encourage you to research widely available literature online, as well as the experiences of others!

Mentha Piperita (Menthol), Eucalyptus Globulus (Eucalyptus Oil), Tragacanth Gum Rosin Ester (Adhesive made from tree sap), Guar Gum Rosin Ester (Adhesive made from tree sap)

Ethically sourced

We source our peppermint and eucalyptus leaves from responsibly organic farms in Uttar Pradesh (in Northern India). This means our entire supply chain is looked after. No exploitation. Ever.

The leaves are steam distilled, to extract the purest version of both eucalyptus oil and menthol - giving you that soothing tingling sensation!

Vegan & Cruelty Free

Just like all our products, the BeYou patches are cruelty-free and even registered with the Vegan Society. That's right, rest assured we only use the most responsible manufacturing processes and suppliers throughout our manufacturing process!

Eco-friendly

The patches themselves are biodegradable within 36 months under normal landfill conditions. We don't take that lightly - we're not talking about unrealistic lab conditions that some companies quote, we're talking about the real-world.

Our packaging is made from recycled plastic and is in turn recyclable. We know we can do better though - we're working on a biodegradable version which won't impact shelf life so watch this space!

So, I was wondering...

Is the Muscle & Joint Patches heating or cooling?

Neither! Most people describe it as a tingling sensation that lasts for the first 30 minutes once you apply the patch. After that it does its thing and helps take the edge off! Unlike hot water bottles the ingredients release over a 12 hour period.

Do the Muscle & Joint Patches come in other colours?

Our Patches are beige because this is the colour of the natural fibres we use to create them, with zero additional nasties such as artificial colours or chemical-filled dyes. We're working on making them the BeYou teal colour (or maybe transparent) but so far we have not found anything natural that keeps the effectiveness of our patches intact! As we say though, we're working on it so watch this space!

What can I use the Muscle & Joint Patches for?

Front, back, legs, breasts - you can use them wherever you need to; all day, or all night - or both! All you need to do is place it directly onto your skin and the patch will get to work for up to 12 hours, so you can tackle your day (or night)!

What are the ingredients in the Muscle & Joint?

Our Muscle & Joint Patches are made from natural plant fibres and contain a proprietary matrix arrangement of Menthol and Eucalyptus Oil, enveloped with an adhesive made from tree sap. It is a naturally derived medical-grade polymer blend and contains no nasties.

Does it really last for 12 hours?

Yes! The essential oils are proven to release consistently over 12 hours. Of course some people prefer to change the patch or take it off sooner, but that’s down to individual choice.

What if I’m allergic to any of the ingredients?

If you are allergic to either eucalyptus, menthol, or plasters, we advise you to not use our product. If you are not sure, we advise testing it out on a small area first. If any irritation arises please take the patch off immediately and seek medical help. The patches are high in Menthol too, which can irritate your skin so it's worth doing a patch test first.

I have sensitive skin, can I use your Muscle & Joint Patches?

Everything in the patch is natural so unless you are allergic to any of the ingredients, you shouldn’t get any irritation. However, if you do suffer from extremely sensitive skin, we advise you to test it out on a small area first.

Pro Tip: If you have sensitive skin, you can still use the patch, but we advise taking the patch off in the shower (once it has become wet) as the water will make it really easy to take off (so any irritation should be minimised).

Can I use the Muscle & Joint Patch if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

When it comes to pregnancy and breastfeeding, there is some anecdotal evidence to show that menthol can reduce the amount of milk produced. While that can be great for engorgement, it's not the intended purpose so we'd stay clear until breastfeeding is over.

How do I remove the Muscle & Joint Patch?

Make sure that you always remove the Muscle & Joint Patch with warm water. You’ll need to do this to loosen the strong, sticky adhesive that is made to last for up to 12 hours.

It’s simple really, you can either remove these patches whilst in the shower or bath, at the end of your day or just before your day - or take a damp cloth and pat the patches until it is damp and peels off easily. This is a requirement, not a recommendation. It’s a Muscle & Joint Patch, not a wax strip ;)

Are your Muscle & Joint Patches Vegan?

Absolutely! We pride ourselves on the fact that our Muscle & Joint Patches are Vegan; being completely cruelty-free with no nasty-animal derived ingredients.

Are the Muscle & Joint Patches tested on animals?

No, the BeYou Muscle & Joint Patches are not tested on animals.

I’m in alot of pain, and find it hard to sleep with a hot water bottles and heat patches.
What makes the BeYou patches any different?

Hot water bottles are notoriously hard to keep in place - and should only be used for 30 minutes at a time. They also won’t stay at the soothing temperature you want for more than a few hours so you have to keep changing them. Heat patches are bulky and mostly stuck on clothes which can drape off while sleeping. The BeYou patches go directly onto the skin, are ultra thin (we’re talking less than 0.3mm thick!!!) and release the ingredients over 12 hours - so even if you’re going into hibernation mode, you can put a patch on and it’ll last until you wake up!

Usually I use heat patches for muscle pain but they can be bulky. Are the BeYou patches much thinner?

Yes, the BeYou patches are significantly thinner than anything else on the market. Measuring less than 0.3mm in thickness, that’s similar to heavy duty foil you use, or a credit card (but obviously a super flexible one made from fabric!

Can I use your Muscle & Joint Patches when swimming?

No - the water will almost certainly make it fall off! Swimming is a great, low-impact exercise to help stretch out your muscles and help ease period cramps so don’t be put off! Just be sure to dry your skin properly before applying the patch again!

Do they smell of menthol? I don’t want anyone at work knowing I’m on my period!

Yes they do, they smell of menthol and eucalyptus. However, for most part, only you can smell it because the scent is usually trapped inside your clothing and can escape up the top towards your nostrils! That said, most people love the smell anyway so it’s not a big deal!

I get a hot feeling, is that normal?

Yes, the menthol sensation is often thought of as a hot cooling - vs being obviously hot or cold. So it’s very normal!

If I want to work out, can I use the patches?

You can definitely do some light movement with the patches on. They’re designed to stretch in all directions and move with your body / skin.

Is the plaster latex free?

Yes.

Where should I store your Muscle & Joint Patches?

In a cool place (but not too cold!).

Can I only use a patch once? Isn’t that wasteful?

You can only use each patch once. However, that’s currently the only way to make sure the ingredients are released over 12 hours.

How is it different from Paracetamol / Nurofen / Ibuprofen / etc?

The BeYou Muscle & Joint Patch is 100% natural and has no added chemicals. We'd always advise discussing with a medical professional if they have recommended you take regular medication before using the Muscle & Joint Patch.

What happens if it comes off? Can I put it back on?

Our patches don’t generally fall off. If, for some reason, your patch does become loose or falls off, we always advise using a new one. This is because they are designed to stay put. The primary reason it might fall off or not stick properly is if the area you are putting it on is too wet, or has become wet (e.g. in the shower or excessive sweating). If it is because of sweat, then the likelihood is that the same patch won’t stick back on as it has already lost its integrity.

Will it remove my hair when I take it off?

Yes it will so don’t pull it off hard, this isn’t a wax strip! Gently hold the skin and peel it off slowly. Having said that, you can use some warm water to help remove it, or you can just peel it off slowly in the shower.

Is it recyclable?

The packaging can be recycled by 92% of curb-side recycling collections. It is also made from recycled materials. The Muscle & Joint Patches are not recyclable but they are biodegradable within 36 months.
