Period sex can be an amazing experience for you and your partner. In Let’s Talk Period Sex we went through the benefits of having sex while menstruating and why we believe you should get down and dirty when you’re riding the crimson wave. Today, we want you to make sure you have bloody brilliant period sex during Valentines Day.
Be Prepared
Period sex is not gross by any means but giving your partner a heads-up before you get freaky will make it all run a lot smoother. We also advise you to grab your period sex essentials i.e towels, lube and condoms, if you need them. Place the towels nearby before having sex that way you don’t have to run around trying to find them when you’re in the throws of loooovvee.
Set the mood
Remember, sex isn’t just about pleasing your partner, it’s about also about you and your pleasure. So make it special for you! Put on your favourite undies, perfume, music, bedclothes etc., to get your self in the mood. Just because you’re on your period you still deserve to feel sexy. Prioritise your pleasure and the rest will fall into place.
Communicate
Whether you have a short term or a long term partner communicating with them is key, especially during period sex. They might not have had period sex before so they might be unsure as to what to do. If so, reassure them that you will communicate to them what is feeling good and what isn’t.
Period sex can be great for period pains because of the spike in 'happy' hormones soothes the cramping muscles. However, if certain positions, which usually feel great, aren’t feeling good then don’t be afraid to tell your partner. You’re naturally more achey and sensitive on your period so be mindful of what feels good.

I LOOOVE this Jess! So many of my friends swear by having sex on their period, and I’ve heard from so many places that orgasms help with period cramps. TMI but I’ll be giving this a go this weekend hahaha
